Wiser£money is a strategic partnership between Wessex Resolutions (C.I.C.) and Encompass Southwest (a registered charity and company limited by guarantee) that is governed by a formal partnership agreement. Wiser£money operates across Devon and Somerset providing services for people living in rural/remote and coastal and market town communities who are experiencing poverty, hardship and financial exclusion.

The Healthy Homes project will focus on mitigating the impact of fuel poverty, building household and community resilience within rural settlements across West Somerset, Mid Devon and North Devon, areas linked by high levels of rurality/low incomes/fuel poverty.

  • Resilience, social policy and capability work will achieve greater community involvement and service integration leading to increased service capacity and improved sustainability of advice and information services.
  • Increased access to advice, information and capability services will lead to improved financial wellbeing and outcomes and a reduction in anxiety and stress among vulnerable groups living in rural communities.
  • Increased awareness and understanding of fuel poverty & financial capability issues among residents, volunteers and agencies will lead to improved financial inclusion and resilience.
